ESSAS / GLOBEC

One of the regional Global Ocean Ecosystems Dynamics (GLOBEC) programs, Ecosystem Studies of Subarctic Seas (ESSAS), has objectives to compare, quantify, and predict the effects of climate variability and global change on the productivity and sustainability of subarctic marine ecosystems, as well as plans to coordinate IPY cruises in the subarctic seas, including the Bering and Chukchi seas. ESSAS is the lead organization in a new consortium, ESSAR (Ecosystem Studies of the Subarctic and Arctic Regions). Ecosystem Studies of Subarctic Seas
